Browse node

Amazon's numeric ID for a category in its catalog tree, such as the node behind Electronics › Keyboards.

Definition

What Browse node means

Amazon organizes its catalog as a tree of categories, and each category is a browse node with a numeric ID. The node ID appears in category URLs and is how you limit a search or a best-seller list to one category.

Nodes are per marketplace: the same category on amazon.com and amazon.de has different IDs, and Amazon adds, renames, and merges nodes over time.

Clair's Amazon search takes a node as category_id, and the categories endpoint lists the nodes you can pass.
