Amazon Reviews API
The reviews and star breakdown a product page shows, on Amazon marketplaces outside the US.
Overview
What teams build with the Amazon Reviews API
Review monitoring
Check your products and competitors' for new top reviews and a changing star breakdown, and flag low ratings for follow-up.
Product research
Read what buyers praise and complain about before you source, design, or price a product in the same category.
Sentiment and summaries
Feed review titles and bodies to a classifier or a language model, with the variant each reviewer bought.
Official API restricted
Is there an official Amazon API?
Only for Amazon affiliates. Amazon deprecated the Product Advertising API 5.0 and moved affiliates to the Creators API, which is part of the Associates program.
Amazon's Product Advertising API 5.0 is deprecated: calls return 403 with a message to migrate to the Creators API. The Creators API is run by Amazon Associates for publishers, influencers, and affiliate partners, to show and link to products they earn commission on.
If you monitor prices, sellers, or reviews rather than sell as an affiliate, that program does not fit. Clair reads the product page a shopper sees for the delivery location you pass as zip_code, including the Buy Box seller, all other offers, and, outside amazon.com, reviews.
Read from these pages on September 28, 2026.

Code
Integrate in minutes
One host, one Bearer key for every Clair API. Each call returns JSON with the same envelope, so a second API is a new path, not a new client.

Query and response fields
Reads the reviews a product page shows without sign-in, up to about 13. amazon.com shows reviews only to signed-in shoppers, so country=us is not supported: it returns 400 without a charge. The other nine marketplaces work. Amazon puts the full review list behind sign-in everywhere, so there is no page parameter.

Pricing
Does it work on amazon.com?
No. amazon.com shows reviews only to signed-in shoppers, and we do not sign in to Amazon, so country=us returns 400 and is not charged. gb, ca, au, in, de, es, nl, be, and jp show reviews to everyone and are supported. Many US products are sold on amazon.ca and amazon.co.uk under the same ASIN.
How many reviews does it return?
The reviews the product page shows without sign-in, up to about 13; fewer when the product has fewer. Amazon puts the full review list behind sign-in on every marketplace, so there are no further pages.
Is the star breakdown included?
Yes. product carries the rating, the rating count, and the share of each star from 1 to 5.
Which marketplaces work?
us, gb, ca, au, in, de, es, nl, be, and jp, chosen with country. Reviews are the ones that marketplace shows.

How is a request counted?
Each call is one request, and each extra page is a new call. A malformed request (400) is not counted, and a request that fails on our side (5xx) is refunded.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. The free tier is $1 of usage a month across every Clair API, with no card: about 86 Amazon Reviews API requests if it all goes here. It resets monthly, and calls stop when the balance runs out.
What happens when I use up my plan's balance?
The API returns 429 until the next period, on every plan, and nothing is billed past the balance. An upgrade starts a new month at once, and the unused balance carries over.
Does my plan cover other Clair APIs?
Yes. One plan and one key cover every Clair API, and every call spends from the same monthly balance. Your first call starts the free tier.
