What MAP policy means
A MAP policy sets the lowest price at which authorised resellers may advertise a product. It protects the brand's pricing and its smaller retailers from being undercut. It limits the advertised price, not the price at checkout, and brands enforce it through their reseller agreements rather than through the marketplace.
On Amazon, enforcement means watching every seller on each product, not only the Buy Box, and recording the price, seller, and time as evidence. Many policies cover new items only.
Clair's Amazon offers endpoint lists every seller's price and condition for an ASIN, and the seller endpoint returns the business behind a seller id.
