Bloomberg API
Section rails or site search on bloomberg.com, then one article.
Overview
What teams build with the Bloomberg API

Headline datasets

Licensed feeds only
Is there an official Bloomberg API?
Only with a Bloomberg data contract. Bloomberg's APIs are part of Bloomberg Professional Services, such as the Terminal, Server API, and Data License.
Bloomberg's developer APIs serve customers of Bloomberg Professional Services: the Terminal, the Server API, and Data License. News comes with those contracts; there is no standalone news API to sign up for.
Clair reads bloomberg.com as a signed-out visitor. Headlines are complete; on metered stories only the public paragraphs come back, and the response sets body_truncated so you know.

Code
Integrate in minutes
One host, one Bearer key for every Clair API. Each call returns JSON with the same envelope, so a second API is a new path, not a new client.
curl -G "https://api.clair.im/v1/bloomberg/search?section=latest" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"

Pricing
Does it return full Bloomberg articles?
The public part. Stories behind Bloomberg's paywall return the paragraphs shown to signed-out readers, with body_truncated set to true.
Is this Bloomberg Terminal data?
No. It is bloomberg.com's public news pages. Terminal news and market data need a Bloomberg contract.
How do I page through the latest headlines?
Pass the next_cursor from a response as cursor in the next request, with the same section.
What does the Bloomberg API return?
Two endpoints, one subscription. Search reads a section rail (latest by default) or searches the site with q; both page with next_cursor. Article reads one bloomberg.com story. Metered pages return public paragraphs and set body_truncated. Not Terminal.
Which endpoints does a plan include?
All of them: Latest, Article. Each call spends this API's rate from your plan's balance.
How is a request counted?
Each call is one request, and each extra page is a new call. A malformed request (400) is not counted, and a request that fails on our side (5xx) is refunded.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. The free tier is $1 of usage a month across every Clair API, with no card: about 303 Bloomberg API requests if it all goes here. It resets monthly, and calls stop when the balance runs out.
What happens when I use up my plan's balance?
The API returns 429 until the next period, on every plan, and nothing is billed past the balance. An upgrade starts a new month at once, and the unused balance carries over.
Does my plan cover other Clair APIs?
Yes. One plan and one key cover every Clair API, and every call spends from the same monthly balance. Your first call starts the free tier.
