NAP consistency
What NAP consistency means
NAP stands for name, address, and phone number. Local SEO treats them as a business's identity: the same business listed as "Brothers Plumbing" at one address on Google and "Brothers Plumbing, Heating & Electric" with another phone number on a directory looks, to people and to software matching listings, like two businesses.
Google's guidelines for Business Profiles ask that a business be represented as it is known in the real world, consistently across its signage and branding. A NAP audit compares the Google listing with the business's website and the directories that list it, and fixes the differences.
Clair's Google Maps place endpoint returns the listing's title, address, phone, phone_e164, and website, the fields an audit compares.
