Parent ASIN
An ASIN that groups a product's variations, such as sizes or colours, each of which has its own child ASIN.
What Parent ASIN means
When a product comes in variations, Amazon lists each as a child ASIN with its own price, stock, and images, and groups them under a parent ASIN. The parent cannot be bought; it ties the variations to one product page with a selector.
Reviews are usually shared across the variations of one parent, so a rating can reflect a colour or size other than the one shown. Prices and availability are not shared: tracking a product means choosing which child to track.
Clair's Amazon product endpoint returns variants with each child's asin, its attributes, and which one is selected.
