What Related searches means

At the end of many results pages Google shows a set of related searches: other queries people typed around the same topic. They are a view of how searchers refine or widen a query, which is why SEO and content teams collect them.

They differ from People also ask, which lists questions with expandable answers. Related searches are shorter queries, and following them one step at a time maps a topic's neighbourhood.

Clair's Google Search API returns related_searches as a list of query strings, empty when Google shows none.
